Eurogate opened in the UK out of a British and Hungarian partnership, handling European road freight from the first week.
The group opened its first subsidiary outside the UK, in the Netherlands, and began building a network of country offices.
Eurogate launched its project cargo service and brought every office up to ISO 9002 certification.
Subsidiaries opened in Poland and Slovakia, extending the network into the corridors most of the group’s freight runs on today.
A Czech Republic subsidiary followed, adding Prague to the growing group of country offices.
Dr. George Nagy took full ownership of the group, the arrangement that still holds today.

George founded Eurogate Logistics in 1990. His view of the business has stayed the same the whole way through: this is a relationship business first and a transport business second. You move the goods well enough that the customer comes back. More than thirty years on, the company works across eight countries and 16 offices, and it is still run by the family that started it.
Adam runs Eurogate Logistics as Group Managing Director. He has been part of building the company alongside George for years, and now looks after the day-to-day across the network. The company has grown a lot in that time, but the way it works has not really changed: stay close to customers, keep the people who know the job, and take the long view rather than chasing the next quarter.
Eurogate’s operating model is built around territory knowledge, corridor management and direct support from experienced teams across the network. Customers with multi-corridor requirements can also be supported through dedicated multi-lane coordination.
